Terms of Use

Effective October 12, 2026

These terms cover your use of the Wisper apps for iPhone and Android and the services behind them. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy.

The short version

  • Wisper Pro renews automatically until you cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings. Refunds are handled by the store.
  • AI features have daily and monthly limits, including fair-use limits on Pro.
  • AI-generated notes can be wrong. Check anything important before you rely on it or send it.
  • Your notes are yours. Get permission before recording other people, and don't misuse the service.

1. Agreement

Wisper is operated by [TODO: Company legal name] ("Wisper", "we", "us"). By downloading, signing in to, or using Wisper, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. Who can use Wisper

You must be at least 13 years old to use Wisper. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Wisper only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these terms on your behalf.

3. Your account

You sign in with Apple or Google. You're responsible for activity on your account and for keeping access to your Apple or Google account secure. An account is for one person. Tell us through the support page if you think someone else has used it.

4. The service

Wisper records your voice, transcribes it on your device (or with the optional Cloud HD service), and uses AI to turn transcripts into notes, summaries, tasks, and other formats. Recording, on-device transcription, and your notes work offline. AI features and Cloud HD need an internet connection.

The Free plan is available at no charge. Wisper Pro is a paid subscription that unlocks more styles, higher limits, and extra features. The current Free and Pro features are shown in the app and on our support page.

5. Subscriptions and free trials

  • Billing. Wisper Pro is sold as a monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-time Lifetime purchase that never renews, through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Payment is charged to your store account when you confirm the purchase. Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may vary by region.
  • Auto-renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your store account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Free trials. Some plans include a free trial (for example, 3 days on the yearly plan for eligible new subscribers). Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it converts to a paid subscription and you're charged. Any unused part of a trial ends when you buy a subscription.
  • Cancelling. Cancel any time in your store settings. On iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions. On Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. You can also tap You → Plan & usage → Manage subscription in Wisper. After you cancel, Pro stays active until the end of the period you've paid for. Deleting the app or your Wisper account does not cancel a subscription.
  • Refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, and refunds are handled under their policies. Request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com or through Google Play. We can't issue store refunds ourselves.
  • Restoring purchases. Sign in with the same Wisper account and tap Restore purchases in You → Plan & usage to use Pro on a new device.
  • Price changes. If the price changes, the store will tell you in advance as its rules require, and you can cancel before the new price applies.

6. Plan limits and fair use

AI notes, rewrites, Ask Wisper questions, and Cloud HD minutes are limited per day and per month. The current limits are shown in You → Plan & usage and on our support page. Limits reset at 00:00 UTC, and unused allowance doesn't carry over.

Pro limits are generous but not unlimited. They exist so the service stays fast and affordable for everyone. Free plan limits apply per person and per device. We may adjust limits, slow down requests, or temporarily pause AI features to protect the service, and we may suspend features for accounts that try to get around limits.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Record people without the notice or consent the law requires. Recording laws differ by place, and you're responsible for following them.
  • Use Wisper for anything illegal, or to create content that is harmful, harassing, hateful, or infringes someone else's rights.
  • Get around plan limits, for example by creating multiple accounts or resetting device identifiers.
  • Access the service with bots, scripts, or other automated means, or use it as a general-purpose AI service outside the app.
  • Try to extract our prompts, probe or overload our servers, or bypass security measures.
  • Copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or resell the app, except where the law allows it.

8. Your content

You own the recordings, transcripts, notes, and other content you create with Wisper, including the AI output generated for you. You give us a limited licence to store, process, and transmit your content only to provide the service to you, including sending it to the providers described in our Privacy Policy. We don't use your content to train AI models.

You're responsible for the content you submit and for having the right to submit it. Wisper syncs your notes as a backup, but you're responsible for keeping copies of anything important, for example by exporting your notes.

9. AI output

Transcripts and AI-generated content are produced automatically and can be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of context. Speech can be misheard, names and numbers can be wrong, and extracted tasks, dates, and events can be mistaken. Review output before you rely on it, add it to your calendar, or send it to anyone. AI output isn't professional advice (medical, legal, financial, or otherwise), and similar output may be generated for other users.

10. Third-party services

Wisper relies on services from Apple, Google, Firebase, RevenueCat, Groq, Vercel, AI model providers, and our hosting provider. Your use of the App Store, Google Play, and Apple or Google sign-in is also governed by their terms. We aren't responsible for third-party services we don't control.

11. Our app and licence

The Wisper app, its design, and its software belong to us and our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, under these terms and the rules of the store you got it from. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

12. Changes and availability

We're always improving Wisper, so features, styles, and limits may change. We may also need to stop offering parts of the service. We aim to keep Wisper available, but we don't guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. If we discontinue the service, we'll try to give you reasonable notice so you can export your notes.

13. Termination

You can stop using Wisper at any time and delete your account in You → Account → Delete account (see Account deletion). We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, misuse the service, or if the law requires it. Where reasonable, we'll tell you why. When an account is closed, its data is deleted as described in our Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as 8, 9, and 14 to 17) continue to apply.

14. Disclaimers

To the extent the law allows, Wisper is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. Some places don't allow these exclusions, so they may not all apply to you.

15. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or opportunities, arising from your use of Wisper. Our total liability for any claim relating to Wisper is limited to the amount you paid for Wisper in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or removes rights you have as a consumer under the law of the place you live.

16. Indemnity

To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses from claims by others that arise from your content or your breach of these terms.

17. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by [TODO: Governing law (country / state)], without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be heard in [TODO: Courts / venue for disputes], unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.

Before starting a formal dispute, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally.

18. Apple App Store terms

If you got Wisper from the Apple App Store:

  • These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
  • If the app fails to meet an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any). To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
  • Apple isn't responsible for any claims relating to the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection, or intellectual property claims.
  • You confirm you aren't located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo and aren't on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

19. General

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app or on this page before it takes effect, and we'll update the effective date. If you keep using Wisper after a change takes effect, the new terms apply. If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Our not enforcing a term isn't a waiver. You may not transfer these terms, but we may transfer them as part of a merger or sale of the business.

20. Contact
